While investigating illegal logging for an equally illegal hydropower plant on the river Râul Alb inside a Natura2000 area (Sălaşul de Sus, Hunedoara County), Romanian environmentalists were chased and violently attacked by a group of thugs on May 24.

Während rumänische Umweltschützer am 24. Mai illegale Abholzung für ein ebenso illegales Wasserkraftwerk am Fluss Râul Alb in einem Natura 2000 Gebiet (Sălaşul de Sus, Hunedoara County) vor Ort untersuchten, wurden sie von einem Schlägertrupp verfolgt und gewaltsam angegriffen.

Erstmals seit Mitte 2013 war ich wieder am Tigris. Ich war in Hasankeyf, in "Neu Hasankeyf", bei der Ilisubaustelle und auch weiter flussabwärts in der Tigrisschlucht. Ich wollte wissen, wie es dort aussieht und wie es den Menschen geht.

Ulrich Eichelmann (Riverwatch) takes you to the Bence River - a tributary of the Vjosa and one of the most beautiful and ecologically most valuable rivers in Albania. However, the river is threatened by the construction of a hydropower plant: 95% of its water is to be diverted into pipelines in order to generate electricity. Within the context of the campaign, we are trying to protect this river amongst many others.

On April 29, 2015, about 150 people protested against the construction of a hydropower plant on the Bence.

Ulrich Eichelmann bringt Sie an die Bence – ein Nebenfluss der Vjosa und einer der schönsten und ökologisch wertvollsten Flüsse Albaniens. Dieser Fluss ist jedoch durch den Bau eines Wasserkraftwerks bedroht: 95% des Wassers soll in Pipelines abgeleitet und zur Stromgewinnung genutzt werden. Im Rahmen der "Rettet das Blaue Herz Europas" Kampagne versuchen wir auch diesen Fluss zu schützen.
